Directions and parking
The University of Iowa Recreation Building is located at 930 Stadium Drive, just northwest of Kinnick Football Stadium. Access to this facility is through the south doors.
From I-80:
- Take exit 242 for 1st Ave. towards Hospitals-Sports Area
- Turn left at 1st Ave.
- Turn left at 2nd St.
- Turn right at Hawkins Dr.
- Turn right at Stadium Dr.
From Hwy. 6:
- Turn onto Hawkins Dr.
- Turn right at Stadium Dr.
Parking will be available on the West side of Kinnick Stadium on the South side of the UI Recreation Building. It is Lot 43.

Jerry Dearly (St. Paul, Minnesota)
Originally from the Oglala Lakota-Pine Ridge, Pine Ridge South Dakota, Jerry Dearly works as an Elementary school teacher. Jerry has been involved in many Powwows around the country, and was a dancer in the traditional as well as fancy bustle styles from age 5 to 21. He also enjoys singing as well as teaching singing. Jerry has sung with groups such as the Crazy Horse Singers and the Songs of the Oglalas. He is a proud member of the Ogalala/Lakota tribes, and is honored to be this years Master of Ceremonies.
Arena Director
Chad KillsCrow (Lawrence, Kansas)
Chad is from Lawrence, Kansas and is the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Haskell Indian Nations University. He is a member of the Oglala Lakota/Lenape tribe. Some of his favorite Powwows include Copan Powwow, Denver March Powwow, Eastern Shoshone Indian Days and Oglala Fair Powwow. Chad dances the Prairie Chicken Dance and was originally taught by his father at the age of 2. His advice to new attendees this year is to pay attention! Be respectful and have an open mind. Learn as much as you can from each dance style and individual dancer, everyone has their own story!
Head Man
Tim Fish (Madison, Wisconsin)
Tim is originally from Pawhuska, Oklahoma and currently lives in Madison Wisconsin. He is a graduate student within the College of Social Work at the University of Wisconsin. Tim is currently an enrolled tribal citizen of the Muscogee Nation of Oklahoma. Tim has grown up around Powwows all of his life. At an early age he attended many of the l'n-Lon-Schka dances and other Powwows throughout the state of Oklahoma. Some of his personal favorites include the Red Earth Powwow and the Indian Summer Powwwow.
Head Woman
Grace Pushetonequa (Tama, Iowa)
Grace is from the Meskwaki Settlement near Tama, Iowa, but is now residing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she happily is a full time mother. She is a member of the Meskwaki and Lakota tribes and is very excited for the UI Powwow. Grace enjoys the Powwow because it's a step away from reality and it gives her a sense of freedom from everyday life. She dances Jingle, Fancy Shawl and Traditional styles, and her biggest influence on her dancing is her mother. Her advice to new attendees is to have patience, sit back and have fun!

Kelly Grant (Onawa, Iowa)
Kelly is from Macy, Nebraska. He is a motivational speaker, singer, songwriter, southern straight dancer and recording artist. Kelly is a proud member of the Omaha Tribe and enjoys being in the Powwow arena because it makes him feel safe and at home, it gives him a great feelings of excitement. He attended his first Powwow, the Annual Omaha Harvest Celebration in Macy, Nebraska, when he was seven years old.

Charles Lasley Sr. (Minneapolis, MN)
Charles Lasley Sr. is from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is affiliated with the Ho-Chunk, Omaha, and Meskwaki tribes and the first powwow he attended was the Winnebago Homecoming Celebration when he was just a young boy. Charles enjoys participating in powwows because it gives him a feeling of both pride and excitement, and he is honored to be this years Head Drum Judge!
